What Remains

  1. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to watch your brother slowly pass away before your eyes. You were both so young, and carrying something like that could never have been easy for either of you. I know you hold many beautiful memories of him, but it’s also clear there are painful ones that are hard to revisit.

I truly believe he is watching over you and has helped guide you through so many of the struggles in your own life. What he endured in such a short time was incredibly hard, but I’m sure your love and presence brought him comfort and smiles, even during the darkest moments. Hold tight to the memories you shared, cherish the bond you had, and when the pain feels heavy, try to pick out even one good moment to hold onto. That bond will always be part of you.

    1. I really appreciate your thoughtful words.

  2. I remember when I was 11 or 12 (maybe 1985?) I was in the janeway for a week after an atv accident, your brother would visit me. He knew I was homesick and would always make a point to come and say hi. They weren’t long visits, and I didn’t know him before then, but I’ve always remembered his kindness to this day.

    1. Hi Jennifer! Thank you for sharing your comment. You captured Barry very well… “it was a long visit”, but the the kindness that lay within has lasted even to today. That’s making a difference. thank you for doing the same.
